Bergen Cardiac Care Centre at St. Boniface Hospital

Integrated Donor Recognition Display – major donor recognition, donor listings, historical milestones and giving information

Interactive donor wall and recognition display. Major donor recognition. Bergen Cardiac Care Centre.

To mark the opening of its new $20.5 million Bergen Cardiac Care Centre, St. Boniface Hospital created a unique and beautiful interactive recognition display featuring major donor recognition, traditional donor listings and an interactive multimedia presentation.

Martin Bergen and family, for whom the Centre has been named, were in attendance to mark the opening of the Centre. The real estate developer and his family donated $2 million to the project through the St. Boniface Hospital & Research Foundation’s Heart Care Campaign.

The display features two large glass panels with donor names on the left side and a large plaque honoring Martin Bergen and his family on the right side. A touch-screen plasma display showcasing an interactive multimedia presentation centers the display and features modules including:

  • Bergen Cardiac Care Center - Describing the Centre and featuring a collage of photos depicting the beginning of construction and the expected future look of the Centre.
  • About The Foundation – With sections including: Chair’s Message - thanking donors and including a phone number welcoming suggestions; Success Stories - an interactive timeline of Foundation successes from 1976 to present; Board of Directors; and Make a Donation – contact information and information about giving to the Foundation. Both In Memorial and In Celebration gifts of $2000 are described, along with Planned Giving opportunities.
  • Our Donors – A searchable list of donors by last name or category.
  • The Bergen Family – A biography of major donor Martin Bergen and his family.

Aidan O'Brien, Chair of the St. Boniface Hospital & Research Foundation said there were many people to thank for making the Bergen Cardiac Care Centre a reality.

"All Manitobans should take great pride in this centre because they're the ones who made it happen," said O'Brien. "Our heartfelt thanks go out to the Bergen family and our entire community."
