Winnipeg, MB - February 18, 2003 - One hundred years ago Winnipeg was the fastest growing city in Canada and the Exchange District was regarded as the "Gateway to the West". The city overflowed with innovations, inventions and millionaires in the making. Today, in a 112-year-old Exchange District building that once housed dry goods and shoes, the innovation trend lives on with PlannedLegacy Inc., a company that is helping the historic district enhance its reputation as one of the leading technology corridors in the country.
PlannedLegacy develops digital visual messaging (DVM) systems and interactive touch-screen kiosk projects for non-profits, retail outlets and government organizations, and it has already secured deals in the U.S.
Having recently installed their TRIBUTE DVM system locally in the Victoria General Hospital (VIC), for that organization's non-profit foundation, PlannedLegacy is now developing a similar system for Glens Falls Hospital in New York. The TRIBUTE system in place at the VIC was implemented to promote an $11 million capital campaign, as well as to recognize contributors to the project. The system being designed for Glens Falls Hospital, similar to that at the VIC, will be used to promote a $165 million capital campaign.
PlannedLegacy has also secured two additional deals to implement systems in the U.S., through its strategic partner, Fundraising Solutions, in Boston. The first, a Stewardship System that has the ability to accept electronic donations via interactive touch-screen kiosks, is being developed for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge in New Orleans, which serves 12 parishes and a total Catholic population of over 200,000. The second deal involves the development of a prototype network of interactive touch-screen kiosks that will be used to promote a $200 million capital campaign for one of the top hospitals in the U.S.
Utilizing high-definition plasma displays, touch-screen kiosks and the Internet, PlannedLegacy's vibrant new TRIBUTE system infuses new life into static donor recognition displays and stimulates capital campaigns with a unique blend of stunning visuals, interactivity and high-impact text messaging. The system is used to promote capital campaigns, special offers and current events; to provide featured recognition for donors, volunteers, employees and corporate sponsors; to showcase organizational history and community successes; and to display custom messages in a time-sensitive fashion. TRIBUTE also includes Web-based administration software, which allows organizations to easily update information.
Ideal for hospitals, arts and culture venues, religious centers, universities, college campuses, sports venues, corporations and retail outlets, DVM represents the evolution of marketing and communications - and it's helping PlannedLegacy contribute to the technology renaissance of the Exchange District.
